For over 10 years I have been helping my patients achieve and maintain sobriety, gain control over co-occurring disorders, work through relationship issues and trauma, and increase self worth. I use addiction disease theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma informed therapy, mindfulness and meditation, and EMDR. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and a Certified Clinical Supervisor for the NC Substance Abuse Practice Board, I have specialized training and education in treating addiction and co-occurring disorders.
I decided to leave my first career in fashion and design to pursue a career in counseling because of the impact my own personal therapy had on my life. In 2008 I graduated from Appalachian State University with a Master’s in Community Counseling and an Addictions Certificate. Since then I have worked as a counselor in residential and intensive outpatient treatment, a women’s program counselor, a clinical director for an intensive outpatient program, and now a therapist in private practice. Becoming a therapist was the best decision I ever made, and it is truly my passion to help others.
