Integrated Support for Mental Health and Substance Use Recovery
Living with a co-occurring disorder—where mental health challenges and substance use issues intersect—can feel like trying to untangle two complex and interconnected threads. Recovery isn’t just about managing one issue; it’s about understanding how both conditions impact each other and learning how to sustain wellness across the full spectrum of your experience.
At Silver Lining, our Relapse Prevention for Co-Occurring Disorders Group is designed specifically for individuals navigating the dual challenges of substance use and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. We provide a structured, supportive space to build lasting recovery skills, strengthen emotional regulation, and connect with others who understand the unique path of dual diagnosis recovery.
You don’t have to manage it all alone. We’re here to help you stay grounded, connected, and empowered.
What Are Co-Occurring Disorders?
Co-occurring disorders—also known as dual diagnoses—refer to the presence of both a substance use disorder and one or more mental health conditions. These conditions often interact in complex ways:
Mental health symptoms can increase vulnerability to substance use.
Substance use may temporarily mask or intensify mental health symptoms.
Recovery from one without addressing the other can leave clients feeling stuck or prone to relapse.
Common co-occurring combinations include:
Depression and alcohol or cannabis use disorder
Anxiety and sedative use disorder
PTSD and opioid or alcohol use disorder
Our group approach helps participants gain tools to manage both their mental health symptoms and substance use patterns, all in one integrated setting.
