5 Easy Stress Management Tools

Our lives are stressful, and so the last thing we need is to feel more stressed trying to incorporate stress management tools into your day. Here are some easy stress management tools that I use everyday.

Deep Breathing

Deep breathing is something I use everyday, all day. For me, shallow breathing makes my anxiety and stress worse. So every hour I check in with myself to make sure I’m breathing properly. Deep breathing means inhaling through the nose, breathing deep into the lungs until you feel the diaphragm rise, and then exhaling completely, through the nose or mouth.

Grounding

Focusing on your 5 senses can be a great way to re-focus your thoughts back to the present which is a fast way to reduce anxiety and stress. Try this grounding exercise: Notice 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you smell, and what you taste right now.

Gratitude

Practicing gratitude is a fast and simple way of completely changing your perspective in stressful situations. Remind yourself of 3 things you are grateful for in the moment.

Change Your Environment

Changing your environment is another quick way of changing thoughts, which in turn can reduce anxiety and stress. Try taking a walk around the office, looking out the window, or even taking a walk outside.

Affirmations

Sometimes stress and anxiety is resulting from negative beliefs we have about ourselves. If you notice negative thoughts or beliefs about yourself, try writing those down and replacing with healthy thoughts or affirmations.

I hope this post is helpful for reducing stress quickly!
