How to LOVE Your Life
I’m writing this post because isn’t this what we all really want? To LOVE our lives? Each of us may want different things, like a specific job, or to be in a relationship with a specific person, or to live in a certain country. But I think it’s safe to say that regardless of our differences in what we prefer, we all want to be happy and really LOVE our life. Throughout the the past year, I’ve made my personal emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being a top priority. I’ve done specific things over the past year that have allowed me to love my life even more. Here are some tips in how you can love your life more:
Practice gratitude
I know I keep preaching about gratitude, but gratitude really is one of the MOST important things we can practice to be happier. I do a gratitude list every morning of the things that I am most grateful for. This list normally includes my relationships with my husband, daughter, and family and friends. It also includes my work. I get SO much out of helping others, and I feel so grateful to be able to do so.
Stay present
In order to really engage and interact with the people we love, we have to be present. This means we need to be in top mental and emotional form. This includes managing stress and uncomfortable emotions. Overwhelming stress and uncomfortable emotions, if not worked through, can control our thoughts and feelings, and can lead to us not being present with our loved ones.
Identify and live by your values
Lastly, figure out what your values are and live by them. If you really want to be happy, you need to figure out what makes you happy, not everyone else. Write down the most important things in your life, and you’ll start to notice themes about what your values are. When you are making choices about how to spend your time, make choices that are related to your values. Choose to do things and be with people that are in line with your values.
I hope this tips are helpful in how to love your life. It takes work to do the 3 tips listed above, but I promise, it’s worth it!
